AUCTIONEERS INSTITUTE (CAI) The
CAI is the highest designation awarded in the auction industry. It is a three-part
executive development program designed for decision-makers in auction firms, held
each spring at Indiana University in Bloomington. The first CAI designations were
awarded in 1978. Only 850 auctioneers in the US and Canada hold this prestigious
designation. QUALIFICATIONS
FOR ADMITTANCE - 2 years
full-time experience in the industry
- Be
at least 21 years of age
- Have a high school
education or equivalent
EARNING
THE DESIGNATION In order to earn the
designation, auctioneers must successfully complete three courses over a three
year period at Indiana University, pass the test for each course and submit an
acceptable auction summary report. To maintain the designation, the auctioneer
must meet continuing education standards as set by the Institute as well as maintaining
membership in the Auction Marketing Institute (AMI) and the National Auctioneers
Association (NAA). |
