Duane
Hill is a member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). As a member
of this organization, he completed three core courses. The first was 101, which
covered appraisal principles and business practices. The second, 102, covered
appraisal ethics, report writing standards, uniform standards of professional
appraisal practice, identification and authentication, market and value research
and analysis, and legal issues. The final core course, 103, covered appraisal
report writing. He also has taken advanced courses, including heavy equipment.
He is an internationally known specialist in antique furniture, ivory, and Alaska
native arts. He also is a Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA) Certified
Appraiser. All appraisals are done using government recognized Uniform Standards
of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). He has been buying and selling antiques
and art since 1967. He has bought and sold millions of dollars worth of goods
since that time. He has extensive knowledge of European furniture and American
furniture from the 19th and 20th century. He is also a member of the National
Auctioneers Association, and Certified Auctioneer's Institute.

Appraisal
time is calculated from port to port, which is when the appraiser leaves the shop
to his return. Travel outside Anchorage is negotiable with the appraiser.
Appraisals
must be picked up within 10 days of completion. After 10 days a charge of 1.5%
per month will applied to the balance due.
